Desperate Housewives Season 7 debuted tonight with Vanessa Williams joining the cast. We love it already after just one episode! Well the question of whose child got switched at the hospital gets answered and well we always thought Juanita was too chubby anyway to be Gabby's daughter! We cannot wait for all the delicious drama Vanessa Williams brings to the show : ). Did anyone else notice how hot Carlos looked?

Chinua Achebe Wins the Dorothy and Lilian Gish Prize

Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe, author of 'Things Fall Apart' has been selected as the 2010 winner of the Dorothy and Lilian Gish Prize. The prize was created by actress Lilian Gish to in her own words "give the recipients of the prize the recognition they deserve, to bring attention to their contributions to society and to encourage others to follow in their path."  Chinua Achebe will receive the $300,000.00 prize money which will be delivered at a ceremony in New York on Oct 27th. Mr Achebe's 'Things Fall Apart' has sold over 10million copies worldwide.

Lyfe Jennings Sentenced to 31/2 Yrs in Prison!

Lyfe Jennings has been sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison today in Atlanta. The sentence is a result of a dispute with his baby mama. According to MTV, 'the singer kicked down the door of a house in Smyrna, Georgia, in an attempt to find Joy Pound and later fired a gun outside. Smyrna police saw a red 2005 Corvette fleeing the scene, and Jennings was caught after a high-speed chase that ended when the singer smashed the vehicle. He refused a sobriety test. Jennings was handed misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway and refusal to take a DUI test, in addition to two felony counts of attempting to elude an officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.'

Nnamdi Asomugha is a 1st generation Nigerian NFL corner back for the Oakland Raiders. He has a BA in Corporate Finance from the University of Berkeley, California and is considered one of the best corner backs in the NFL. He started the Orphans and Widows in Need foundation which provides food, shelter, medicine, vocational training, literacy efforts, and scholarships to widows and orphans victimized by poverty or abuse in Nigeria!

The blackberry tablet or Blackpad is rumored to use a new operating system from QNX software instead of RIMs blackberry 6 mobile operating system. The price range of the Blackpad is still a mystery. Would you buy this instead of the Ipad? 

The Hoff Kicked off 'Dancing with the Stars'

David Hasselhoff became the first contestant to get kicked off season 11 of Dancing with the Stars after he raked in the least number of votes from the public. We are sad to see the Hoff go, we'll miss his bubbly personality! Au revoir xx

Bruno Mars Busted for Doing Coke!!!

The 'Just the Way You Are' singer was arrested on Sunday Sept. 19th after being caught doing Coke in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Las Vegas. What is it with famous people and drugs? We wonder if this was stupidity, attention whoring or just a publicity stunt! Thoughts?

Drama at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards ~ SMH!!!

After the show concluded last night, the artists attending the event were greeted to a shocking eviction from their hotel rooms at the Crowne Plaza hotel located in Times Square NY due to non payment by the NEA. Recording Artist Omawumi was spotted paying cash at 4.am EST to retrieve her personal items while comedian Jedi was seen checking into a new hotel. Sounds like Nollywood could make a movie out this ~ Sleepless in New York!!!
