Chinua Achebe Wins the Dorothy and Lilian Gish Prize
Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe, author of 'Things Fall Apart' has been selected as the 2010 winner of the Dorothy and Lilian Gish Prize. The prize was created by actress Lilian Gish to in her own words "give the recipients of the prize the recognition they deserve, to bring attention to their contributions to society and to encourage others to follow in their path." Chinua Achebe will receive the $300,000.00 prize money which will be delivered at a ceremony in New York on Oct 27th. Mr Achebe's 'Things Fall Apart' has sold over 10million copies worldwide.
